Does paying for AI music make it eligible for YouTube Content ID?

The short answer

Not automatically. Content ID requires evidence of exclusive rights. A commercial-use permission alone is insufficient.

A practical workflow

  1. Separate the ability to publish a track from the ability to claim other people’s uploads. Ask your distributor about its current AI and Content ID rules.

  2. Prepare the exact master, contributors, source licenses and evidence of exclusive rights. Record the territories you can substantiate.

  3. If the distributor cannot confirm eligibility, do not enable automatic claims based only on your tool receipt. Obtain a written determination for that recording.
