Short Drama / FIELD GUIDE

How do I keep the same character across AI video shots?

The short answer

Start with one approved identity reference, then test costume, angle and movement separately. A repeated text prompt alone is not a continuity check.

A practical workflow

  1. Create a character sheet with a front view, profile and one approved close-up. Keep the original reference separate from costume experiments.

  2. Approve still frames before animation; compare the face, hairline, costume and proportions against the same sheet.

  3. Log model, reference, prompt and take number. Build a contact sheet of adjacent shots before assembling an episode.

Before you publish

Runway documents an image-reference workflow. This is a production approach to test, not a guaranteed fix for the Seedance setup described by the original question.
